Digitalisation, artificial intelligence and algorithmic management in the workplace – shaping the future of work

Isaac Asimov’s “I, Robot” is particularly relevant today because it approaches artificial intelligence not as a technical, but as a moral issue. Digitalisation holds enormous potential to increase productivity, but technology must serve people, not the other way around. Unfortunately, the left once again wants new legislation, placing additional bureaucratic burdens on small and medium-sized enterprises, to the detriment of competitiveness.

What is needed is the ethical implementation of existing data protection and AI regulations, with human oversight. We must know in advance which moral and ethical value framework will make European AI truly European, in the shadow of the two major powers, the USA and China. I believe that not only digital skills are needed, but also ethics, communication and problem-solving abilities. For this, moral and ethical foundations are necessary from early childhood onward.
